Massachusetts sits in the North Eastern section of the United States in the region of New England. The states of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island all border Massachusetts. Boston is both the capital and the state’s largest city. Massachusetts was only the 6th state admitted into the Union back in 1788. Since America’s birth, Massachusetts has always been a trailblazer within the U.S.A. From being the first state to abolish slavery, the birthplace of American public education and the first state to allow gay marriage in the U.S. Whatever the case may be Massachusetts has always been at the forefront of American history.
