Our usual villa (we are timeshare owners) was being refurbished. WJL were kind enough to upgrade us to villa 420, right at the top and overlooking towards Castries. Lovely drop edge pool, well equipped kitchen, dining room and two bedrooms. We are well looked after by Rosalia and Cristiana and other housekeepers and the standard was consistent. For once everything in the villa worked. The resort was quite quiet so plenty of room for everyone. Loved the swing chairs at the beach bar. Jammers service started a bit slowly but improved greatly during the week. Food at Embers was very good. Served at the Upper Deck by Samantha with charm and humour. The sesame tuna was outstanding. Shuttle service by everyone was excellent. I have a bad hip and staff were so helpful carrying stuff and looking after me. Just one issue. At checkout we had a rather grumpy receptionist. My husband had left his towel up in the villa and had not got a towel tag to return in order to get his deposit back. The receptionist made us feel like criminals and insisted on checking up to the housekeeper to make sure the towel was there. I know she was following procedure but it was very frustrating. We have been visiting the resort for 20 years and being made to feel this way was wrong. So, for that reason alone I dropped a star on the review as she was also heard being rather abrupt with other people too. But a very good stay overall. Thanks Windjammer!

We reserved a one bedroom but since we were there during their rainy season we were upgraded to a two bedroom with a private plunge pool on the balcony. This luxury made if very hard to want to leave our villa! The beach is a bit rocky at this resort but the staff made up for that deficiency by being very attentive to our needs. Loved our vacation here and would definitely recommend it to others.

We stayed at the Windjammer with 7 family members ages 16 to 47. The customer service is excellent, the views amazing, the beach well equipped. We stayed in a 4 br villa, #18. It's a bit of a hike uphill from beach to villa, but not bad, as our villa was near the bottom of the mountain. I would recommend trying to get your room/villa as close to the beach as possible, otherwise you're in for a long hike or shuttle ride everytime you head back to your place. Compared to other resorts we've visited with an all inclusive option, the food was excellent at all 5 restaurants. We took a full day land/sea catamaran tour with Southern Breeze, which was great. Captain Andy and first mate Mima we're gracious hosts. I personally could've passed on the land portion of the tour, as the waterfall, sulphur spring, and cocoa plant tours were underwhelming and jam packed. But the boat and cruise itself was ideal. The local "Lucians" are incredibly nice people.

This is probably the last family holiday we will have with our 20yr old and 17 year old as that desire to travel without the olds has kicked in. So we wanted it to be special. Our visit to Windjammer had a lot to live upto as we have been to the caribean before. The hotel is a good 90 minutes from the airport which after a relaxing virgin atlantic flight was abit of a drag. The roads are very twisty and if you suffer from car sickness, which i do, was abit of a rollercoaster. We arrived safely with a great taxi driver and the customery juices and hot towls administered. Our 3 bed villa was situated along and up a very steep hill which required the shuttle to deliver us and luggage. We used this occassionally during the week as the torrential rain some nights stopped our constitutional walk. The villa was VERY clean and spacious for us all and the invited guests of bird'son the chandeliers and lizards in the shelves made it fun. The bird life is amazing if you sit and watch for a while from the verandas and pool/plunge pool as too small to do more than 2 strokes! The faculties are many and varied but we did find after several days that only 2/3 of the 5 possible restaurants where open in the evenings, this made food choices limited and when on an all inclusive not quiet what one was expecting. The food was good. Caribean breakfast or European or British style. Lots of flatbread and salads and fish but mainly the same style. Embers was our go to for lunch. Jammers dinner and once the upperdeck and Dragonfly. Upperdeck very nice location but very expensive for what you get...bouillabaise soup for a main was $35.00 and consisted of a small jug of sauce/soup 3 Greenlip mussels, 3 rings of squid and some peices of fish. It was tasty took an age to arrive and it was a good job i wasn't that hungry! Better larger portions where served at jammers with goat curry and steaks etc. Guys in that bar were great. Very attentive but not intrusive and smiley. Alot of the staff seem abit bored. The Gardeners and cleaning staff always smiled and spoke but alot of the waiting staff especially at breakfast seem a little disinterested. The girls at the spa where fab. Diana and my French polish and Wilamenia and her cool approach made my daughter and i very welcome. We had a deal with our all inclusive of so many hundreds of dollars treatment. One person said it was Us dollars but the bill came in Easter Caribean ...hence my husband had to pay extra. Lots of stuff seems to switch from US to ECD dollars and this could be a little clearer. All in all for a restful week Windjammer ticked the box but if I'm honest in high season with the potential of upto 900 guests and 348 staff it would feel like a seal colony. The hotel was very quiet and there is a big push to buy time share which is not my bag. We got asked 3/4 times to go to presentations with incentives of money to go or food discounts and we even had our room called. Our villa had a great veiw but we could hear noise from the evening entertainment everynight and we we're situated right at the end from the main complex. Our villa also got the noise from.our next door neighbours balcony and the villas above. This was probably due the direction of the wind but it did get abit annoying. So I'm affraid Windjammer is not for me I'll stick to smaller less complex driven hotels but it was a good experience but not the special i really wanted.

Behind the veneer of a beautiful resort and a very friendly staff is an organized crime gang within the security team. My girlfriends and I are seasoned travelers. We know that all valuables must be locked in the secure safety box in the room and we all know how to operate these devices. The Windjammer Resort does a good job reminding guests to secure their valuables. What Windjammer doesn't tell you is that their staff will steal the cash out of your locked security box. The four of us know how much each of us put in the security box in 4 separate piles and how much was missing. 1. $260 2. $240 3. $118 4.$180 = Total $798 I secured the safe with two others checked to see if it was locked. $798 WAS STOLEN when we returned. We have reason to believe that the money was stolen incrementally and the thieves on staff had access to the room and safe on more than one occasion. The resort management told us that only the security staff could override the combo on a locked safe. It gave us no comfort to be informed that the security staff was the likely culprit. The polite, but ineffective, management team made zero effort to correct what is a horrendous situation. The resort insists that valuables be placed in room safes so the thieves know exactly where to go in order to rob their guests. It's both a lazy and brilliant scam. The hotel management called the police (constables) who said they would come over and investigate but never showed up. Hmmm.....? The term "stealing with impunity" comes to mind. Please notice in a prior posting that another guest had their phone stolen by the bartender. We are contacting the Canadian family who owns the resort to let them know that thieves on staff are ruining the reputation of the beautiful Windjammer Landing Resort and will ultimately ruin the reputation of the family that owns it. Really Disappointed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A week in paradise This was our 2nd trip to St. Lucia. The first time we stayed in the southern region of the island, so this time we decided to bite the bullet and take the hour and a half ride to the northern side....we are so happy that we made the wise choice with Windjammer Landing. We had a lovely time there. After spending over an hour in customs (long lines....the airport needs to come up with a new system).....a representative from the resort (arranged by Air Canada) picked us up at the airport and took us through the winding roads, he stopped by a little bar so that we can pick up a drink for the ride. The drive was not so bad, time flew by as we chit chatted with a family from Vancouver and compared past vacations and anticipated the journey we were on. Upon arrival to Windjammer, we were checked in with great ease. Within 10 minutes we were escorted to our room. We were extremely pleased with our room (38). We've been to many different 4-5* resorts in the Caribbean, and I have to say, this has to be one of the best ones we ever stayed in. The view was spectacular. I think all the rooms/villas have the same gorgeous view of the ocean and the rest of the property. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable....although we could not figure out how the netting above the bed worked. If interested, the tv had a variety of channels for all....Citytv and CBC for my fellow Torontonians, TLC, GSN, E, CNN, BBC and a bunch of sports and movie channels. There is a mini fridge with a bottle of water for your arrival. Unfortunately, if you want to keep the fridge full, you will have to fill it up yourself. We just asked the bartender at Jammers for a bottle of water every day and brought it up with us (you can also get canned Diet Coke and Perrier). Our cleaning lady did a good job every day cleaning the room. A nice surprise is when we came back from a tour to find that our worn clothing (which we piled on a chair waiting to be repacked) was all folded up neatly....they went over and beyond whatever we expected. One time we came to our room from the beach, we found that the towels had not yet been delivered. I made a call to house services and the towels were delivered within 10 minutes. The only con I have with the room was the water pressure in the shower. The water was always warm/hot however the pressure was little to be desired. The Restaurants. Our first night we ate at Jammers. Yes service was slow....but I think it seemed longer than it was since we were tired from our trip and really hungry since we hadn't had anything to eat all day. All our other meals including lunches and dinners at Jammers were really good and timely. Breakfasts were at Dragonfly. There is a variety of food to eat, but if you are expecting to have any egg dishes, it may be a long wait. I think there should be more than one person cooking up the eggs....with most people ordering omeletes, there should be another person frying up other egg dishes (sunny side up, over easy, etc.). We had my husband's birthday dinner at Upper Deck. We both had the filet mignon....it was delicious! For dessert, the waitress placed a candle on an apple strudel and sang Happy Birthday...it's the small touches that make this resort a 4.5*. We had lunch once at Embers (buffet). I wasn't a fan...but then, I'm a picky eater. We didn’t have a chance to eat at Papa Don's as the earliest reservation available would be 9:00. I was told by someone I met on one of our shuttle rides that many people had already booked online before arriving to the resort, so my suggestion would be to make your reservations online!! We had dinner one night at Dragonfly...it was Texan barbecue - food was tasty. The ice cream at the ice cream bar was good….a refreshing treat while sunbathing. The one complaint we do have is their signing system. They need to find a different system that will work better for them. We lost count at how many people were chased down by the wait staff because they had forgotten to sign. Like us, I am 100% positive that the people who walked out without signing were all inclusive!!! Grounds. The resort is beautiful with lush gardens which were being tended daily. As everyone else has mentioned, the path to the rooms/villas are steep, good exercise for some, for others, there are shuttles every 15 minutes that can sit from 7 to 12 people. My husband and I walked down to the beach and restaurants all the time and found that not a lot of people would do the same - odd....the walk down was not as bad as the walk up. There was one incident that did catch me off guard and a bit shaken....we were walking down one evening when a shuttle came flying by pretty fast and almost hit me (I was on the edge of the road - out of the way of any vehicles passing), so please be careful. Beach/Pool. The beach is a nice long one. There was always plenty of lounges available. One complaint my husband had was that there wasn't enough shade (he likes to take a break from the sun every once in a while), so he suggests that they have more umbrellas set up. The entrance into the water is a bit rocky. There was some getting use to it...by the end of the trip we were able to walk in without any pain!!! We did try out the pedal boats....pretty good and easily available. Pools. The only one we sat by was the main pool. Mostly kids in the pool playing. We did visit other pools, they seemed to be abandoned by other guests, it may have just been the time of the day we visited. People. The people there are all so nice and welcoming....from the groundskeepers, the shuttle drivers, the front desk, the maid service. No matter who you passed throughout the day, you would get a smile and an exchange of hellos, good mornings, good afternoons and good evenings. I believe this was contagious because for the most part, all the guests were the same. We got to meet a lot of nice people.....mostly from Canada and England. Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end. Check out was as quick as check in. This time our ride to the airport was through a different route....a more beautiful scenic route, making leaving so much harder. Customs at the airport another mess, more long winding lines....took an hour to go through...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Holiday Resort The property and its amenities were amazing. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms and entire resort were kept very clean. The pools were plentiful, the beach was clean and inviting, I would recommend purchasing water shoes to bring along as there are rocks when you go into the water. The restaurants offered great and delicious food choices. We will definitely return for another visit. All Inclusive is the only way to go if you want value for your money. I would avoid the European Plan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This hotel has great features. This hotel was beautiful. I loved the rustic homey feeling. My view was fantastic. The room was spotless. I liked the feeling that my room was individual not like a hotel at all. The balcony upstairs was the icing on the cake. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good and portions were ample. Shuttle service was great. I would definitely recommend this resort. Just be prepared for the long drive from the airport.
